Maths
Mathematics is essential to everyday life and is, therefore, a high priority for us. We aim to provide a maths education that enables our pupils to:
- Become fluent in the fundamentals of maths.
- Reason mathematically.
- Solve problems by applying their maths skills to a variety of problems with increasing sophistication.
- Apply their mathematical knowledge to other subjects.
- Develop a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about maths.
Be fluent, be a problem solver, look for patterns and links. Be a mathematician!
In order to help you to support your child’s learning at home we have developed a Calculations Policy. In addition to this are detailed examples of each of the four areas of number that will also help with supporting learning at home.
